The Sovereign Union Gathering of Nations in Canberra on 23-24 November 2013 raised the bar higher for the political agenda, than at any other time in the Aboriginal struggle.

This was confirmed when senior Lawman Harry Nelson presented the Gathering of Nations with his most sacred Law symbol that he had brought from his Country, where it was united with the sacred Law symbol of the Euahlayi Nation.

As Murray George said at the beginning, Aboriginal Law must sit on top of whiteman's law, because our Law is the Law of this land.

2013 Gathering of Nations in Canberra - Agenda

The agenda for the 2013 gathering is to focus on where we are at and where we are going.

There are many First Nations and Peoples finding themselves confused and frustrated because governments are forcing Native Title through Land Use Agreements and the Mining companies are doing the same with government funded Native Title representative bodies.

We are being cheated and deceived through grand theft.

Calling all Aboriginal Nations to Canberra

The venue for the Nations Gathering will be Old Parliament House, Canberra, commencing at 10:00am with morning tea and registration at the Aboriginal Embassy at 9:00am.

Delegations can consist of an Elder, a youth and delegation leader, that is three people from each Nation. The visitors’ gallery will be open for the public and microphone’s will be placed in the visitors’ gallery for people if they wish to ask questions or make comments. - Details of gathering

Michael Anderson returns from UN Symposium and announced the next Sovereign Union meeting

Michael Anderson said on his return from Geneva that, "the Historic Symposium on Indigenous participation within the United Nations was an important event, considering it included nominated youth from the seven regions of the Aboriginal/Indigenous world. The youth representatives were chosen by the Elders, who were amongst the First Nations participants in 1977 and 1981.'

On his return Michael announced the next Sovereign Union meeting in Canberra on the 23rd - 24th November 2013

First Nations prepare legal way forward for sovereign rights

Ghillar, Michael Anderson, reporting that the Sovereign Union Gathering of Nations held at the Yarramundi Cultural Centre, Canberra, from 23 to 25 November 2018 successfully dealt with key issues facing First Nations.

Those attending came from across the continent and welcomed the opportunity to raise the problems they face and to understand ways of dealing with them, while joining the dots to understand the bigger picture of forced assimilation through fraud and deceit.

Annual Gathering reignites debate on constitutional recognition

Gamilaroi man, and founder of the Sovereign Union, Mr Ghillar Anderson, is preparing to lead discussions on a variety of issues including First Nations People's sovereignty, and the government's proposed constitutional changes. "The Sovereign Union is about bringing people together to share our experiences and get a way forward as a collective group of people", says Mr Anderson. - The proposed changes are being promoted through a government-funded campaign, 'Recognise', which is currently making its way around the nation.

Alternative Camp Site for Gathering

This alternative camp site to the Aboriginal Embassy is just 18 minutes away by car, on a simple route. Bar-b-que facilities are available and bookings are not required because there is plenty of room on the large site that overlooks Mount Majura. It is also in the proximity to the 'old convent' elders hostel. View images below and directions map. We are hoping to organise a bus shuttle system - more details later.
