REPORT & VIDEOS: Delegates came from as far away as Oombulgurri in the Kimberley, WA and Atherton in Far North Queensland. First Nations delegates were joined by participants from the Mapuche in southern Chile, Canada, Fiji and Bangladesh. The Gathering was also well attended by youth from across the continent. The Sovereign Union has recorded the testimonies of ongoing crimes against humanity, genocide, ethnocide, ecocide and persecution, as well as ways forward. [node:read-more:link]

Personally, I appeal to the Gomeroi Nation to authorise a Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) and fight the governments, State and Federal, on the basis that they, in right of the Crown of England, are occupiers of our Sovereign Lands and Territories, stealing our wealth and killing our people through sheer force and the attrition of tyranny and oppression. If the Gomeroi people are going to continue to die, then let it not be by their own hands, or through depression and despair. A Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) is a formal process leading to the establishment of a fully recognized state, which declares itself an independent and sovereign pre-existing state without a formal agreement with the occupying nation state, because the two have never been together. "Many people are wanting to understand UDIs," said Ghillar Anderson, "This topic will be discussed at the upcoming Gathering of Nations on 21 -22 November 2015 in Old Parliament House, Canberra. Gathering of Nations Canberra 21 & 22 November 2015

In the two days of the Gathering of Nations the 150 participants, delegates and observers from all over Australia, were presented with research and information in respect to the key issues facing First Nations Peoples today and the progress to date in the assertion of First Nations sovereignty at a national level. We very clearly articulated the internationally accepted process for assertion of sovereignty by Nations and Peoples subjugated by a foreign power and expanded on the need for decolonisation.
