Corporate Welfare over Aboriginal Rights and Responsibilities to Country

Labor and the government have come to a "settled position" which will deliver native title law changes through federal parliament next week. The bill, slated to be debated in the Senate on Tuesday, is aimed at resolving legal uncertainty around more than 120 indigenous land use agreements relating to major projects, including Queensland's Carmichael mine proposed by Indian resources giant Adani. The bill expected to pass parliament next week reverts the system to the pre- McGlade status quo.

Murrawarri Republic Media Release

MEDIA RELEASE: The Murrawarri Nation agree in principal with the Uluru Statement, however we have some major reservations and concerns with the approach the Referendum Council is suggesting as a road map to achieve a TREATY between First Nations and the Crown represented by her Ministers and her Governor General”. The Murrawarri Nation believe the suggested process is wrong and it needs to be changed from a Reform and Recognition process leading to a Treaty to an Agreement Making Process I.E. Treaty, then Constitutional Reform and Recognition.

Block Native Title Amendment (Indigenous Land Use Agreements) Bill 2017

King of Racism, George Brandis, Attorney-General

There is a grave concern that the national parliament will accept the bleeting of the racist fear mongers who run immediately to the king of racism, George Brandis, Attorney-General, to amend the Native Title Act. The Commonwealth government is now desperate to overturn the recent decision of the full bench of the Federal Court in the McGlade v Native Title Registrar case, which puts the validity of many ILUAs in doubt as not all 'named applicants’ who needed to sign an ILUA did so.

The NSW Biodiversity legislation direct assault on Aboriginal culture, spirituality

The NSW Biodiversity legislation direct assault on Aboriginal culture, spirituality

The new Biodiversity law is tantamount to a declaration of War against First Nations Peoples. These changes will seriously impact on our Laws, culture, religion and spirituality in the State of New South Wales. The new law is deregulation in its worst form, farmers can now basically do on "their" land what they want, clearing, destroying ecosystem and shoot whatever moves. Our sites, be it archaeological campsites, burial grounds or even sacred places have lost the little bit of protection they had, no we will not even be notified, if there is no Native Title claim over the area.

Wave Hill 2016

Fifty years ago , on the morning of August 23, 1966, Vincent Lingiari led a walk-off of 200 Gurindji, Mudburra and Warlpiri workers and their families from a remote Northern Territory cattle station, escaping a century of servitude . The families rejected the pleas of their British multinational employer Vestey’s to return to the Wave Hill station, re-occupied an area of their own land at Wattie Creek, and fought until the nation’s leaders heeded their cause. Nine years later, Prime Minister Gough Whitlam symbolically returned the Gurindji’s country with a handful of red dirt.

Radioactive waste and the nuclear war on First Nations and Peoples

Body
Nuclear Waste

From 1998-2004, the Australian federal government used thuggish, racist tactics in a failed attempt to impose a national nuclear waste dump on Aboriginal land in South Australia. The government's subsequent attempt to impose a dump on Aboriginal land in the Northern Territory was even more thuggish and even more racist. But that also failed. Now the Australian government has embarked on its third attempt to establish a nuclear waste dump and it has decided to once again try to impose a dump on Aboriginal land in SA despite clear opposition from Traditional Owners.

Gomeroi - Unite and Fight

Ghillar Michael Anderson says that the conflict currently being experienced in regards to the Gomeroi Native Title claim, is not so much about the Native Title claim or Gomeroi pre-existing and continuing sovereignty, and may appear to be more about personality conflicts, but underneath is a very well disguised government ploy, with government objectives, to cancel out the strong Gomeroi leadership in respect of Gomeroi sovereign cultural and legal rights. He says some things need to be put into perspective.
