Decolonisation

Sovereignty Proclamation (with Introduction & Video Readings)

Body
Proclamation

The Sovereign Union is providing information and details of rights that we have as sovereign Nations and Peoples, whose Law and culture have never been usurped and this is also held in the law of the colonisers after the High Court Mabo.(No. 2) decision. The recent Sovereign Union Proclamation: First Nations' Sovereignty dated 26 January 2017 is a clear statement of the foundation of our inherent rights in law. All Nations and Peoples are potentially self-determining and independent. Each Nation fights their own fight their way for their purposes.

Media Release - Proclamation

"1, 2, 3, Sovereignty, that's how easy it can be!" was the key chant echoing in the forecourt of Parliament House, Canberra, after the march from the Aboriginal Embassy broke through police lines. The impact of 26 January 2017 was quite significant in many respects, but the most notable was the number of youth who have now stepped up to show that they are prepared to take leadership under the guidance of Elders who have led the struggle to this day.

What is the relevance of Pope’s Apology to Oceania & ‘Australian Aborigines’?

POPE'S APOLOGY TO OCEANIA

Along with the Papal Apologies we have been researching the Bible and its scriptures, because one thing that haunts the memory of our Old People, and this memory has been handed down to us in this generation to this day, is the realisation: They came with the Book in their hand when we were the sovereigns of the soil, but within 50 years we were killed with impunity and we were imprisoned not for any wrongs doings, but simply because of who we are. The question we must now ask ourselves is what is the relevance of the Papal Apology to Oceania

What is 'Decolonisation'? - How do we Decononise?

ne of the basic fundamental facets to achieve true decolonisation, that is, we must learn to decolonise our minds. This essentially means that we must stop thinking like our oppressor and thereby stop trying to fit a round peg in a square hole.

I say this because every time we talk about progressing forward in our ambition to achieve self-determination and independence, too often our people revert to saying: We have to ask the government, or we need to ask them for money.

Yingiya Mark Guyula maiden speech - NT parliament 2016

Body
Independent Member of Nhulunbuy, Yingiya Mark Guyula, reading his maiden speech. Northern Territory Government 2016

We declare that we have not been conquered. We declare that to this day we are a sovereign people. We declare that we will subject to our Madayin system of law constituted by the unseen creator of the universe and reveal to givers of law (inaudible), and we continue to steward this system through our lawful authroities and governments.
Our Madayin system of law is guarded by the Yothu Yindi separation of powers. Our Madayin system of law is a rule of law not a rule of man. Our Madayin system of law is the equal of any other system of law.

Absolute need to fight to assert our Sovereignty

Fighting for Land Rights

Personally, I appeal to the Gomeroi Nation to authorise a Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) and fight the governments, State and Federal, on the basis that they, in right of the Crown of England, are occupiers of our Sovereign Lands and Territories, stealing our wealth and killing our people through sheer force and the attrition of tyranny and oppression. If the Gomeroi people are going to continue to die, then let it not be by their own hands, or through depression and despair. We must die standing and fighting and not lay down and let these bastards have their own way

Dadawarra from Mungullah, WA declares his sovereignty

Dadawarra says a 1,041 page Federal Court judgement on native title in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia seven years ago affirmed him as the sovereign ruler of the Commonwealth, extinguishing the Crown's sovereignty at the same time.

He argues through a complex marriage of Western Australian and national legislation, and ancient Aboriginal customary law - may actually hold water, with cryptic comment from the Federal Court doing nothing to dispel it.
