The signing of the Treaty of Union of Sovereign First Nations of the Northern Murray Darling Basin creates a new pathway in Aboriginal politics, which establishes the future foundation that will see us as Sovereign Independent Nations. The Assembly of Sovereign First Nations of the Northern Murray Darling Basin is a first step. It will not just see us achieve self-determination and independence, but will implant within the political system of the Nation, that is now called Australia, a new way for First Nations to achieve political and legal equity with our invader and occupying state, known as the Federation of colonies of Australia, which, under international law, has itself not fully achieved true political and legal independence from its mother state, Britain.

Yesterday was an extremely historic occasion with the signing of the Treaty of Union between Sovereign First Nations of the Murray-Darling Basin. The moment, however, was marred by misinformation and a lack of an wholisic understanding of the Multilateral Treaty, which is only between Northern Basin Aboriginal Nations. Our Facebook warriors have managed to pick one article, from an old draft, not the final document, without understanding its proper context. In no way does this clause 'apply their Corporate laws over the Sovereign Jurisdiction of the Nations hence an IMPACT On SOVEREIGNTY!' as claimed on a Facebook page. The reverse is true.

The Referendum Council has been having invitation-only dialogue meetings with Aboriginal people across Australia which we called 'secret meetings' because only selected First Nations people were allowed to attend and many Tribes and Nations were not represented.  Now we find that there is an additional 'Invitation-Only' meeting in Canberra. First Nations people who have been seeking a voice for the 'NO' vote have discovered this meeting in Canberra on Wednesday 10 May 2017, because as it was poorly advertised many people do not know about it, so are unable to attend.

It is reassuring that the Anzac Day March in Canberra has accepted the fact that the Frontier Wars Commemorations are now acknowledged. We are not yet part of the formalities of the Anzac Day March itself, but that the day may soon arrive when the Frontier Wars Commemorative March is accepted. This is based on the fact that for the first time in history our diggers were acknowledged in the formal procession with an Elder carrying an Aboriginal Land Rights flag at the beginning of the March - with videos ...

This weekend in Brisbane, the Referendum Council is holding the last of the Dialogues : a series of meetings with First Nations peoples to discuss the issue of recognising the nation's Indigenous people within the Australian constitution. The findings from the meetings will be reported at a First Nations Convention at Uluru in late May.

Canberra based Researcher Chris Warren undertook a presentation at the Aboriginal (Tent) Embassy on 17th April 2017. Chris provided the evidence relating to Smallpox, the act of biological warfare against First Nations people in New South Wales in 1789. Isobelle Anderson of the Kirjin Nation in Far North Queensland has made an official complaint to June Oscar AO, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait and Islander Social Justice Commissioner, regarding the way the Referendum Council is conducting their Regional Dialogue meetings and called the whole process a 'circus'    ...   'To make a complaint to the Ombudsman in Canberra, I have to lodge a complaint with the Commonwealth Agency first. I cannot do this because they will not allow me to ...'
